07/02/2010 - BHI Window Panels Inaugurated by HRH Princess Alexandra
The trustees of the British Home for Incurables commissioned a set of windows to mark the retirement of House Manager, Noelle Kelly. Mrs. Kelly in turn commissioned a set of windows in memory of her late husband. Mrs. Kelly and her husband were keen birdwatchers hence the bird theme for the stained glass windows. The work was encapsulated in sealed units and replaced existing. The windows were part of an inauguration ceremony, in honour of Mrs. Kelly, attended by HRH Princess Alexandra (right of plaque in picture).
To view these windows more closely go to Gallery, filter on 'sold' and 'nature'.

07/01/2010 - BHI In-House Magazine
The trustees of the British Home for Incurables, Streatham, commissioned a set of windows to mark the retirement of House Manager, Noelle Kelly. Mrs. Kelly in turn commissioned a set of windows in memory of her late husband. The commission included four large panels of British Birds and Butterflies in the meeting room annexe and a further six panels of similar design in a communal recreation area. Residents have remarked how much they like to sit and look at the panels in the various light levels during the day.
Each of the ten panels were encapsulated in double glazed units and replaced existing clear units.
